Shannon has worked extensively in the fields of Environmental Health as well as social and environmental planning and impact assessment, having held a range of positions at both State and local Government levels.

Shannon is a qualified food safety auditor and has other qualifications in environmental science and management fields.

Shannon is also the NSW/ ACT Branch President of Environmental Health Australia.

Shannon has presented a number of papers at State, National & International conferences.
